State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Sept. 20-22 on Halfmoon Valley Road in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged the victim’s window with a BB gun. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- State police received a report about an incident of loitering and prowling at night that occurred Wednesday at a South Eagle Valley Road residence, north of Port Matilda Borough. During the incident, a known suspect allegedly used a stool to boost himself up to the victim’s window. The victim saw the suspect looking in the window. When state police arrived at the scene, the suspect fled through a wooded area. State police are continuing their investigation at this time. Lawrence Township
- Police responded to a hit-and-run accident that occurred at Wal-Mart.
- The Pennsylvania Game Commission was assisted with an incident that occurred in the Glen Richey area.
- Police received a report about a stolen vehicle in the Glen Richey area. Police say that the vehicle was located.
- Police received a report about a careless driver in the Hyde area.
- Police were contacted about a civil issue. Police advised the complainant to contact the magistrate’s office.
- Police assisted a motorist at a local business on Route 879.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault that occurred in the area of 21st
- Police located an injured deer that had been struck by a vehicle. It was dispatched by authorities.
- Police assisted a motorist who was out of gas in the area of Route 879.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute in the 200 block of Rumbarger Avenue. According to police, it involved a male and female, and he was advised to comply with her request to leave her alone for the night. He agreed he would not have any further contact with anyone else in the residence for the remainder of the night.
- Police were dispatched for a possible medical emergency at a Fuller Street residence. Police made contact with a male, and he was transported to Penn Highlands by emergency personnel for an evaluation.
- A female reported to police that she had backed her vehicle into another one at the intersection of Scribner Avenue and Brady Street. She pulled into the parking lot there; however, the other vehicle’s driver did not. Police documented it as a non-reportable accident.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday a 51-year-old Cayman Landing resident reported that she was blowing leaves from her yard, and her neighbor came out and began harassing her over it. Her neighbor accused her of blowing leaves into her yard. Officers handled the dispute without incident.
- On Wednesday a truck driver reported that while his truck was parked in the Pilot parking lot, someone cut his brake lines. When police tried to call the man, he wouldn’t answer the phone. Also, when police checked the parking lot, the man and his truck were gone.
- On Thursday a 32-year-old Rockton woman was allegedly caught by JC Penney employees taking several items of clothing from the store without paying for them. Police found the woman in the parking lot, and she eventually admitted to taking the clothes in order to sell them online for cash. Charges are currently pending at this time.
- On Thursday a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old Ohio woman was waiting to pull out onto the Bee Line Highway from the Perkins parking lot. At the same time, a 71-year-old DuBois man backed his vehicle from a parking spot and hit her vehicle. Minor damage and no injuries were reported to police.
- On Thursday police reported that a 12-year-old Circle Road girl went into a neighbor’s yard to pet their dog, and when the dog was startled, it bit the girl on the arm. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- On Thursday a 22-year-old DuBois man was traveling too fast on Cayman Road in Treasure Lake. He subsequently lost control of his vehicle, causing it to travel over an embankment and into a yard before coming to rest near an occupied home. Police say his vehicle sustained moderate to major damage; however, the man wasn’t injured. Minor damage was reported to the yard.
