Dorothy P. Light, 97, of Ramey died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 in Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born April 27, 1920 in Grassflat, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Folmar) Mann.
She was a member of the Parsonville Assembly of God. She worked as a seamstress for JBC.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Kerr Sr., Louie Braca and Melvin Light; five children, Melvin Kerr Jr., Myrl Kerr, Sarah Spencer, Delores Burton and Linda Spencer; three brothers, Thomas, Bernard and Lester Mann; a sister, Margaret Roach; four grandchildren, Melvin, Terry, and Donald Spencer and Ricky Kerr; and great-granddaughters, Jessica Wills and Autumn Dawn Spencer.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Richard Kerr of Houtzdale and sisters, Madeline Gardner of Ramey, Verna Round of McCartney and Hazel Gardner of New York.
She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Ramey, with Pastor Kevin Howard officiating. Burial will be private.
