Roland ‘Mark’ Hummel, 71, of Grampian and formerly of Wallaceton, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
He was born May 27, 1946 in Philipsburg, a son of the late John and Madeline (Kramer) Hummel.
Mr. Hummel was employed at Piper Aircraft and later worked for ELCAM. He then spent his time taking care of his mother.
He attended the Greenville Church of the Brethren.
He was a black belt in karate and taught karate at the Philipsburg YMCA. He loved dogs and trained and raised Dobermans and German Shepherds.
He is survived by his daughter, Robin Miller and her husband, Ken of Woodland; two grandchildren, Alicia Miller-Stiles and her husband, Jeffrey James Stiles Jr. and Lucas Miller; his companion of 22 years, Louise Welder of Grampian; five siblings, Josephine, Darrell, Denny, Barry and Patricia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Avanell and Linda and a brother, Arthur.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
