State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Friday on Crystal Lane Road in Houtzdale. During the incident, a 16-year-old boy allegedly used aerosol spray paint to draw on the road near the victim’s driveway. Charges have been filed through the district court.
- State police reported on a drug-related investigation that was initiated Sunday at a Fourth Avenue residence in Woodward Township. After receiving information about possible drug activity, state police located suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia at the residence. Charges will be filed through the district court.
- State police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred Monday on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile-marker 115 in Lawrence Township. According to the report, a 32-year-old Pittsburgh, Pa., man lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons while negotiating a right-hand curve. His vehicle traveled off the north shoulder for approximately 429 feet and then impacted an embankment. After impact, his vehicle continued to travel east for approximately 315 feet and overturned numerous times until coming to a rest six feet off the north shoulder on its driver’s side. State police located the man along the north shoulder approximately 18 feet west of his vehicle; he was taken to UPMC Altoona Hospital by ambulance. State police were assisted at the scene by the Lawrence Township Fire Department, Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and towing services.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by deception that occurred Sept. 8 on Laurel Hill Drive in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly scammed the victim out of $7,000 via a fake Internet transaction. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police reported on a drug incident that occurred Saturday on Kathy Street in Rush Township. According to state police, someone left an empty plastic bag used for packaging heroin on the roadway. State police are continuing their investigation at this time. - State police reported on an incident of public drunkenness that occurred Friday on Ninth Street in Philipsburg Borough. When state police arrived at the scene, a 42-year-old Philipsburg man, James D. Howe, was allegedly heavily intoxicated and in need of medical attention. He was cited for the incident through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Sept. 5 on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. - State police reported a drug-related incident that occurred Friday on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. According to state police, drug paraphernalia was located inside a residence. It was subsequently turned over to state police.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Sept. 9 on South Eagle Valley Road in Huston Township. According to state police, a 34-year-old Julian man engaged in a verbal argument with the victim. It allegedly turned physical when he struck her in the face, causing minor injuries. State police are continuing their investigation, and charges were filed through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Aug. 29 on East Pine Street in Philipsburg Borough. According to state police, someone entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and allegedly removed her purse. State police say the suspect took her credit card and tried to use it at an ATM but was denied after entering the incorrect pin. State police described the suspect as wearing a light gray under armour sweatshirt with an orange bandana over their face. - State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a male suspect allegedly stole two handguns, a Samsung Tablet and necklace that belonged to the victim. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Saturday on Loch Lomond Road in Rush Township. When state police arrived at the scene, it was determined that a 43-year-old Philipsburg man had allegedly punched the victim several times over a scrap metal dispute. He was cited for the incident through the district court.
- State police received a report about an incident of burglary that occurred on Pump Station Road in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly forced entry into a camp between Sept. 10 and Sunday and removed two axes and a propane heater. State police are continuing their investigation at this time. State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred Wednesday at the Wal-Mart in Young Township. A 38-year-old Luthersburg man, Allen R. Frantz, allegedly stole various items, including a laptop and tablet. State police say he deprived the store of more than $400 worth of merchandise. Frantz is currently wanted for felony retail theft and is described as having a large tattoo on the outside of his right hand. He frequents the DuBois and Falls Creek areas, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Punxsutawney barracks at 814-938-0510.
State police at Ridgway
- State police responded to an incident of DUI that occurred Sunday at the intersection of Route 948 and Hammer Road in Ridgway Township. According to the report, state police arrived at the scene to assist a motorist. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the 61-year-old Ridgway man had been in physical control of the vehicle while he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to Penn Highlands Elk Hospital for a blood draw, and charges are currently pending the results.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a young female who was walking along River Road. She was wearing a backpack. Police learned she didn’t get on the school bus and began to walk away. Police say the mother located the girl during their search.

DuBois City
- Police responded to a traffic accident in the area of the 500 block of Maple Avenue. Upon arrival, police found both vehicles were moved off the roadway and into a driveway. The drivers exchanged the necessary information.
- Police responded to an accident at the intersection of East Park Avenue and North Church Street. According to police, a vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. Police observed minor damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on North Brady Street. A person was also reportedly peeking into windows of a residence on West Scribner Avenue. Upon arrival, police searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle/person.
