Norman L. Dixon, 70, of Clearfield died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at his home.
He was born Nov. 16, 1946 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Chalmer B. and Norma (Beach) Dixon.
He retired from Kurtz Bros., after driving truck for 28 years. In his retirement, he served as the sexton at the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
He was a member of the Mount Joy United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia A. (Ogden) Dixon, to whom he was wed Aug. 12, 1967 in Clearfield.
He is survived by two children, Brian Dixon and his companion, Emily Addleman and Kimberly Michelucci and her husband, Mark, all of Clearfield, and three grandchildren, Morgan Dixon, Hunter Dixon and Gavin Hrzic.
He is survived by four brothers, Donald Dixon and his wife, Kay of Virginia, Marvin Dixon and his wife, Pam of California, Chalmer ‘Mouse’ Dixon and his wife, Helen of Philipsburg and Bob Dixon and his wife, Georgia of Michigan and three sisters, Paula Hamilton and her companion, Richard of Wisconsin, Betty Krause and her husband, Larry of Philipsburg and Sandy Gustkey and her husband, George of Houtzdale.
He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Karen Doll and her husband, Fred of New York and Debbie Adams and her husband, Dennis of Clearfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mount Joy United Methodist Church, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, and again from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield, or to the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, 113 N. Third St., Clearfield.
