Anna Prosper, 88, of DuBois died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Oct. 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Peter A. and Mary C. (Pitrone) Prosper Sr.
She retired as a secretary from Swift Kennedy Insurance in DuBois after many years of service. Prior to that, she had worked for the General Adjustment Bureau.
She was a 1946 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.
She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.
She was a member of the former Professional Secretaries Club, where she had received an award for the longest participation.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, and had an extensive cookbook collection.
She had many of her own recipes published in many local and regional publications.
She was also a beloved aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by two brothers, Peter A. Prosper Jr. of the Villages, Fla., and Guy W. Prosper and his wife, Margaret of Castle Hayne, NC; five nieces, Janice, Mary Ann, Lisa, Paula and Sherri; and three nephews, Paul, Peter and Guy.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Mancini and Alberta Prosper and a nephew, Dario Mancini.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
