DUBOIS – The 12th annual Nini Manfredo Memorial Girls’ Soccer Tourney will take place Saturday, Sept. 16, at DuBois Central Catholic’s Soccer Fields, starting at 9 a.m.
Teams in the 2017 tourney include Clarion, Redbank Valley, Franklin, Curwensville, Punxsutawney and the host Lady Cardinals of DuBois Central Catholic.
Trophies will be presented to the team place winners; an offensive and defensive MVP will also be announced.
Pool play will be the format, with three teams in each pool and a placement round to follow. Both soccer fields behind Central will be used.
In addition, there will be a concession stand at the day-long tourney. One ticket price of $6 includes entry to all games for the entire day for adults; an all-day pass for students will be $3.
Proceeds benefit the Nini Manfredo Memorial Scholarship Fund. Manfredo, a long-time officer of the Cardinal Athletic Association, was also active in the DuBois Soccer Association and was an avid sports fan.
Donations to the scholarship fund may be sent to the DCC Business Office, P.O. Box 567, DuBois, PA.
