Geraldine E. Parks, 95, of West Decatur died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born Oct. 29, 1921 in Spring Valley, the daughter of the late James and Elva (Hull) Aveni.
On Jan. 14, 1937, she married Lloyd E. Parks, who preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1987.
She was retired but had worked for the McGregor Clothing Factory. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, reading her Bible and listening to blue grass Christian music.
She is survived by her three children, Rexall and his wife, Phyllis Parks and Brent and his wife, Elaine Parks, both of West Decatur, and Darlene and her husband, James Richards of Howard.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Dwayne Parks, Andrea Parks-Moody, James Richard Jr., Craig Richards, Curt Richards and Neal Parks; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, Beverly and her husband, Russel Hurley of Hyde and Inez and her husband, Jerry Donner of Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two grandchildren, Darren Parks and Kimberly Richards; three sisters, Maddeline, Verna and Gloria; and a brother, Glenn “Keno” Aveni.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Casey Maines officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery.
