CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry recently awarded the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center (CCCTC) a $200,000 Tech Grant to its precision machine technology and welding and metal fabrication programs.
The grant is a part of a $2 million in reemployment funds for tech grants to an institution that has demonstrated a track record of training and placing adult students into occupations that are in high demand by local employers.
Susie Snelick and Pam Streich of the Workforce Solutions for North Central Pennsylvania (North Central Workforce Development Board) played an extensive role in helping CCCTC secure the grant.
Along with the support of the local community, the CCCTC appreciates the support of the local representatives in ensuring success of the area, school officials said.
Officials added that support like this continues to create opportunities for students from Clearfield, Curwensville, Harmony, Philipsburg-Osceola and West Branch schools to experience and become trained in the latest technology in the manufacturing field.
The grant allowed the CCCTC to purchase a CNC Mill, CNC Lath, 3D Printer, Laser Engraver, 3D Scanner, Metal Pipe Bender, Metal Shear, CNC Plasma Cutter and Multi-Purpose Welder.
