Christine B. (Taylor) Ogden, 99, of Goshen died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born Dec. 21, 1917 in Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late George Edward Taylor and Cora B. (Koozer) Taylor.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ogden was a member of the Goshen Ladies Aide and a past treasurer of the Sunday school for the Goshen United Methodist Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher at the church for more than 25 years.
She’s survived by four children, Evelyn L. Ryan, Dale G. Ogden Sr. and his wife, Betty, Connie A. Montini and Donna K. Jordan and her husband, Donald R., all of whom reside in Goshen.
She’s survived by 11 grandchildren, James T. Ryan Jr., Donald A. Ogden, Dale G. Ogden Jr., Donald R. Jordan Jr., Max E. Ogden, Teresa Ann Cowder, Edward L. Montini Jr., Kathryn Smith, Debra K. Smeal, Evelyn Loye Smarsh, and Victoria L. Fasick.
She’s also survived by 30 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald G. Ogden, to whom she was married Jan. 28, 1939, and who died Aug. 1, 2008; son-in-laws, James T. Ryan on April 17, 2001 and Edward L. Montini on March 3, 2012; and 12 siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Goshen United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert F. Henry officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. An additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the services Friday.
