Anne Veronica Kelemen, 99, of Morrisdale went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
On Feb. 28, 1918 in Forest (Munson), she was the daughter of the late George and Veronica Bosci Kelemen. She was the eighth child of a family of 12 children.
At age 17, Ms. Kelemen moved to Bridgeport, Conn., where she resided with her sister, Ida Balog and her family, George, LynnAnn and Ronnie Balog, all of whom preceded her in death.
Ms. Kelemen was a long-time employee of Eastern Paper and Bag Co., retiring in 1988 at age 70.
She was a member of the St. Emory’s Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield, Conn., and a member of the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale.
In 2005, she relocated to Morrisdale, residing with her sister, Margaret Whipple; nephew, Dennis and his wife, Sharon Whipple; great-niece, Jennifer and her husband, Anthony Winkler; and great-nephew, Don, who preceded her in death, and his wife, Julia Sabol Whipple.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Whipple of State College; her brother, Berton Kelemen and his wife, Joyce of Spokane, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Gary Crago and his wife, Shelly of Philipsburg.
Family and friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday,.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale, with Father Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
