CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Branch Library is pleased to announce that registration for the upcoming fall pre-school story sessions has gotten under way. The theme for this session is “Get Your Paws on a Good Book.”
The Budding Readers Story Time begins the week of Sept. 18 and the Little Sprouts Toddler Time will begin the week of Oct. 2. Classes are free of charge, but donations are always welcome.
Area children ages 3 to 5 years are invited to participate in the “Get Your Paws on a Good Book” Budding Readers series of classes to be held each Wednesday.
Parents or caregivers can choose enroll their child in either the 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. class time.
At each session, a book will be presented to the class using the theme and will be accompanied with coordinating activities to project the message of the story.
To participate, a child must be 3 years of age by the first class attended or may enroll in the Little Sprouts program that begins in October.
The “Get Your Paws on a Good Book” Little Sprouts classes will be held on Tuesdays. Pre-schoolers ages 18 months to 3 years of age are invited to participate in the toddler time series of classes.
Parents or caregivers have the option of enrolling their child in either the 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. class.
The Little Sprouts session emphasizes the value of reading aloud to your child, social interaction, learning and playing together and developmental skills.
The PA Forward initiative, launched by the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) in 2012, supports the efforts of libraries across the state as leaders in community education.
The five literacies of PA Forward will help guide discussions within the fall story sessions. With each week’s discussion, children will experience at least one of the five literacies as part of the PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries initiative.
