LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – The Lawrence Township police joined with the Pennsylvania State Police and more than 206 municipal agencies to conduct targeted aggressive-driving enforcement from July 6 through Sunday.
Township police made 98 contacts and issued 58 aggressive driving-related citations during the enforcement period.
The enforcement focused on red-light running, the Steer Clear law, tailgating and speeding. Motorists who exhibited unsafe behaviors, such as driving too fast for conditions, following too closely and others, were also citied.
The enforcement was a part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project. It was funded by part of PennDOT’s investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
