DUBOIS — Like their varsity counter-parts, the Clearfield Junior Varsity football game opened their 2017 season with a victory over the DuBois Beavers.
By scoring on a five yard touchdown pass from Barrett Kline to Nick Domico with two seconds left in the game, the Bison edged the Beavers by a 21-14 final.
DuBois had tied the game at 14 apiece with 48 seconds remaining.
Also scoring for the visitors from Clearfield were Brett Zattoni on a five yard run to open the scoring, and Kline and Domico also connected on a scoring strike in the third quarter to put the Bison on top 14-8. Zach Hess was three for three on conversion attempts for the Bison.
Clearfield (1-0) will travel up river to face the Curwensville Golden Tide on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Riverside Stadium in their next game.
