Alice L. Shaffner, 70, of Clearfield died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born Sept. 4, 1946, the daughter of Mervil N. and Lucille (Snyder) Bell.
She was a mother and homemaker and had worked at The Progress. Mrs. Shaffner was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clearfield.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald N. Shaffner, to whom she was married June 21, 1975; a daughter, Sherry Dixon and her husband, Tim of Houtzdale; and three sons, Gregory Shaffner and his wife, Barb of Clearfield, Steven Shaffner and his wife, Sandy of Curwensville and Douglas Shaffner of Hanover.
She was also survived by four grandchildren, Tyler, Alexa, Cameron and Carleigh Dixon; nine step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Junod and her husband, Tim of Mahaffey; two brothers-in-law, John Sankey and Eric Quigley, both of Clearfield; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Randy Shaffner; and two sisters, Joyce L. Quigley and Dortha B. Sankey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Clearfield with Pastor Matt Brown and Pastor Robert Achey co-officiating. Burial will be at the Mahaffey Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of services at the church.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 111 N. Second St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
