Maxine Vogel, 84, of Port Matilda and formerly of Houtzdale, died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.
Born Feb. 2, 1933 in Irvona, she was the daughter Don and Violet (Straw) Termin. She was protestant by faith.
She was employed by Bi-Lo Market in the bakery department until her retirement.
On March 30, 1957 in Virginia, she married John R. Vogel, who preceded her in death Aug. 30, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Vogel Sr.; two grandchildren, Chelsa and Timothy Vogel Jr. of Ashtabula, Ohio; and a great-granddaughter, Brayle McCaleb.
Also surviving are two nieces, Deborah Bodle and Cindy Walker; great-nieces, Crystal Foster, Tania Robinson and Jenifer Prentice; and great-nephews, Samuel and Shannon Prentice.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Mike; two sisters, Louise Duckett and her twin sister, Racine Blake; and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Termin.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. Burial will be in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin.
