State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an incident of criminal mischief that occurred Monday or Tuesday in a private driveway on East Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly slashed the rear, passenger’s side tire on the victim’s Chevrolet Impala. Damage was estimated at $100. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred Monday or Tuesday at the Sheetz Convenience Store in Decatur Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole $400 from the victim’s purse while it was in the store’s break room. State police are continuing their investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- State police received a report about an incident of harassment that occurred Monday on Cotton Lane in Bradford Township. During the incident, Shaylyn Stiffler, 28, of Houtzdale and William G. Kephart Jr., 23, of Woodland were involved in a verbal altercation that allegedly escalated when they began pushing, clawing and grabbing each other. Kephart fled the scene prior to the arrival of state police. Both were charged for the incident through the district court.
State police at DuBois
- State police investigated a possible failure to register for Megan’s Law case on July 10 in Reynoldsville Borough. It revealed that a male suspect was in compliance; no charges will be filed as a result.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police reported on a drug violation that occurred July 8 on East Presqueisle and South Front streets in Philipsburg Borough. Troopers were requested to conduct a welfare check; a female was located inside a vehicle and didn’t need medical attention. However, a syringe was allegedly located in the backseat in plain view, and a further search yielded 12 more syringes used for drug injection.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an incident of retail theft that occurred June 29 at Wal-Mart in St. Marys. During the incident, a St. Marys couple entered the store and selected multiple items of baby clothing. They allegedly concealed them in a baby car seat, and the male suspect fled the store; the female went through the check out with other items.
Clearfield Borough
- Police were requested to check an occupied vehicle that was parked at a local business after hours. As a result, police allegedly located drugs and drug paraphernalia.
- Police received an animal complaint for a cat that was left behind in a residence along Daisy Street.
- Police arrested a male on several active warrants along East Market Street. Police also allegedly located drug paraphernalia on him as a result of the arrest.
- Police received a report regarding fraud. A female told police that she’d received a call from a “foreign male” who was claiming to be from the Federal Bank Reserve. He reportedly requested money from her. She was able to determine it was fraud and did not provide him any personal information.
- Police are investigating an alleged theft of money.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment from a Patterson Street resident.
- Police responded to Reighard Street, where a male had overdosed on medication. Police located the male who was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police arrested a male after an alleged domestic situation along Daisy Street. Police said that the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Lawrence Township
- Police are investigating an incident of loitering and prowling at nighttime in the Golden Rod area. Police will step up patrols in the area.
- Police are investigating an illegal dumping complaint that occurred along Beaches Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 814-765-1533.
- Police received a report about an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred at Wal-Mart. However, it was listed as unfounded by police.
- Police received a call about a wanted male on Palmer Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct on Log Cabin Road.
- Police received a report about possible drug activity in the area of Plaza Drive.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female who was soliciting for money at the Clearfield Mall.
- Police received a report about an overdose/psychological emergency on Mount Joy Road. A patient was taken to the hospital for treatment.
- Police received a report about a tractor-trailer that was pulling utility lines down on Poplar Avenue.
- Police received a dog complaint that occurred in Hillsdale. Police have contacted the dog’s owner.
DuBois City
- Police received a complaint about loud music in the 200 block of West DuBois Avenue. When police checked the area, they didn’t find any loud music or a disturbance.
- Police received a report about a vehicle hitting a fence at the DuBois Area Middle School. It remains under investigation at this time.
- Police have received multiple reports from residents who have been called by a person claiming to be a Penn Highlands representative and asking for personal information. Police said the caller isn’t from Penn Highlands and they would like to remind residents not to provide personal information out over the phone.
- Police received a report about criminal mischief to a vehicle. According to police, the victim stated there was a BB-sized hole in her car window, which caused it to shatter. Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
- Police were dispatched to the area of the Sandy Bridge, where kids were walking on the barrier and jumping off into traffic. When police checked the area, they didn’t locate anyone.
