CLEARFIELD – A Philipsburg man accused of threatening to shoot another man in the head waived his right to a preliminary hearing during centralized court Wednesday.
Ryan M. Muir, 30, has been charged by Clearfield-based state police with terroristic threats, M1; simple assault, M2; recklessly endangering another person, M2; and harassment, M3. His bail was modified to $50,000 unsecured (supervised) at his hearing.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, at approximately 12:30 p.m. July 4, the victim was sitting on his porch on Kate Street. Muir came and began to ask about him questions about getting a job.
Muir then allegedly pulled out a silver handgun from his waist area and inserted a bullet in the chamber. Muir pointed the gun at him and stated that he was he was high and going to shoot him in the head, the victim told state police.
When this happened, a witness was sitting in a chair nearby. He’d observed Muir walking from the street toward the porch and pulling some type of pistol out from his shorts. He also heard Muir threaten the victim.
A second witness stated when she observed the gun on the porch, she told Muir to get out of there. He then took the gun and left.
