CLEARFIELD – The first public meeting for the Lawrence Township FFY 2017 Entitlement Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application will be held to obtain citizen views and comments on how CDBG funds are needed in their communities.
This meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 18 at the Lawrence Township Municipal Building, 45 George St., Clearfield.
Lawrence Township anticipates that its FFY 2017 allocation of funding by the Department of Community and Economic Development will be approximately $110,000.
These funds may be used for a variety of community development purposes, including: public improvements (water, sewer and or stormwater construction, sidewalks, street reconstruction, etc.), the rehabilitation of deteriorated housing units, the removal of architectural barriers, mitigation of blighted/slum areas and energy conservation projects.
No less than 70 percent of CDBG funding will be used to assist projects where at least 51 percent of the project’s beneficiaries are of low- or moderate-income (LMI).
A presentation will be made that includes prior uses of funds, project updates, allowable uses, national objectives, fundability requirements, uniform relocation assistance, as well as all other federal and state regulations.
Interested citizens will be given the opportunity to offer suggestions for the development of the township’s CDBG programing and Clearfield County’s FFY 2017 CDBG Application and the Three-Year Plan for FFY 2017-2020.
If you are a person with a disability who wishes to attend this public meeting and require an auxiliary aid, service or other accommodation to participate in the meeting, please contact Lisa Kovalick of the Clearfield County Planning and Community Development Office at 814-765-5149 to discuss how we may best accommodate your needs.
