DUBOIS – A DuBois man is facing charges for threatening to kill two men with a gun.
Scott Alan Hall, 30, was charged with two counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and one count of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle after an incident July 6 in DuBois. He is in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, police were called to a South Church Street residence for a report of a Caucasian male in shorts with no shirt on threatening to kill two people.
While still en route to the incident, country control contacted the officers to say the man had left the scene in a gold Honda Pilot and was possibly heading towards Shaffer Avenue near Subway.
An officer made contact with the suspect at Knarr Street where the man was identified as Hall. Hall reportedly had a handgun in his front waistband.
When an officer advised Hall why they were there, Hall jumped back, started yelling and took an aggressive stance toward him, police said. At this point, a second officer arrived and made contact with Hall, who told them to leave him alone. He then backed into his garage and started to close the garage door.
The second officer drew his service revolver and walked into the garage. Hall was ordered to place his hands on his head, which he did. This officer was then able to take the gun from Hall’s waistband and he secured the weapon.
Hall then again started yelling and screaming, stating the officers were violating his rights. Due to Hall’s demeanor and the fact there were multiple firearms in the garage, the officer decided to put Hall in handcuffs.
Hall would not put his hands behind his back. Instead he started swinging his arms away. The officer took Hall to the ground and used the necessary force to take him into custody, according to the complaint.
After he was handcuffed, Hall explained that he saw a truck drive recklessly by his residence and he decided to go to the residence where the truck was located. Hall told police when he got there, he told them not to drive the truck that fast by his residence.
Another officer spoke with the two victims. The first witness said Hall pulled into his driveway in a gold Honda SUV. Hall then got out of the vehicle and reportedly screamed at them about doing “burn outs” near his residence.
While Hall was screaming, he allegedly threatened to smash the victim’s truck windows out. Then he threatened to “kill you all,” the victim said. Hall pulled out a small, silver-colored pistol from either his pocket or waistband, according to the witness.
He allegedly passed the gun from one hand to the other while he was yelling. Both victims said they were afraid Hall would use the weapon.
Another witness reported that she heard Hall screaming from her residence on Shaffer Avenue. She then got into her vehicle and drove to where the disturbance was happening.
She told police when she arrived, she saw Hall with a gun in his hand, yelling at the two men, stating he was going to kill them. Hall then put the gun back into his waistband, got into his vehicle and drove away.
As he did, his vehicle reportedly struck her vehicle, causing damage to the driver’s side mirror. Hall then drove away at a high rate of speed, she said.
Hall’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m. during centralized court at District Judge Pat Ford’s office in DuBois.
