CLEARFIELD — Six teams have committed to play in the 23rd annual Clearfield “Past-Your-Prime” Modified Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament August 12 and 13, and any other interested teams are asked to call Jerry Bickel at 590-1399 or be represented at next Tuesday’s 7 p.m. committee meeting in Buster’s Sports Bar.
Three-time defending champion Bedford Over-The-Hillbillies and Bob Boob’s Garage of Clearfield shared the title last year when rain washed out the championship game.
They’ll be back along with the Meatheads, Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub and Buster’s Sports Bar/Siegel Engraving, all Clearfield teams, and Potter’s Bricklayers of Philipsburg.
The tourney for players 40-and-older has a 10-run Mercy Rule after 4½ innings and a speed-up rule with a 1-1 count on every batter.
