DUBOIS – A long-standing music festival will go on.
The Treasure Lake Music Fest, held annually at the former Treasure Lake Ski Lodge, is a go for this year.
Organizers say it’s expected to be better than ever with two “very popular,” national country music artists, Parmalee and LANCO, making the trip to DuBois.
The country pair will be joined at this year’s music festival with what is known by most, as the “best Eagles Tribute band in the world,” 7 Bridges.
Each of these acts will be supported and opened for by local musicians, Kurt Thomas & His Fabulous One-Man Band and Nicki Sbaffoni, performing an acoustic sing-along, before LANCO and Parmalee take the stage.
The Treasure Lake Music Fest was started in 2004 by George Moore and Nathan Sharp. The very first Music Fest was titled the “Straub Music Fest” and featured George Thorogood as the headliner.
Since then, many acts – national, local and of the tribute variety – have graced the stage at Treasure Lake.
This year, Sharp Advertising LLC will be promoting the Treasure Lake Music Fest in conjunction with the Treasure Lake Property Owners Association.
The Treasure Lake Music Fest 2017 will be held Friday and Saturday, July 7-8. More information is available at www.tlmusicfest.com.
It is the hope of Sharp Advertising and Shirley Elmore, TLPOA general manager, that this will continue to be a successful concert series every summer.
Organizers encourage everyone to attend. Advance tickets are only $15 for Friday and $25 for Saturday and are also available at www.tlmusicfest.com.
Tickets at the gate, day of show, will be $25 and $35, respectively, so advance tickets save concert-goers $10 each. There will be adult beverages served by the TLPOA.
Again this year, Yuengling is the major beer sponsor, but other brands will be on tap, including Budweiser and Bud Light. TLPOA will also be serving picnic style food, such as hot dogs and hamburgers.
Sponsors for this year’s Treasure Lake Music Fest include: Dale Smith Camper Sales, Farmers National Bank, Kurt Johnson Auto Sales, Gio’s BBQ and Yuengling.
Security is being volunteered by the U.S. Army and the WPAL Boxing League.
