Shirley E. Zahuranec, 86, of (Hudson) RD Philipsburg, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born June 3, 1931, in (Stirling) RD Houtzdale, she was a daughter of William and Gertrude (Delansky) Vogle, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a 1949 graduate of the former Houtzdale-Woodward Joint High School. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, Houtzdale.
She was married July 4, 1953, by the late Fr. Michael Tutokie, at the former Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Winburne, to Joseph J. Zahuranec. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2011.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Baker; an infant sister, Mae Vogle; and one brother–in-law, Michael Swartz.
She is survived by one sister, Ida Mae Swartz of (Hudson) RD Philipsburg; a nephew, William M. Vogle and his wife, Carol; a great-nephew, Jeffrey Vogle and his wife, Glenda; and a great-niece, Bonnie Reimer and her husband, Kevin.
There will be no public visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with Pastor Dennis Frantz officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
