Voters across the UK are casting their ballots in a snap general election that could have a big impact on how the country negotiates its exit from the European Union.
Polling stations opened at 7 a.m., local time (2 a.m. ET) and people will be able to cast their ballots until 10 p.m. (5 p.m. ET). Exit polls are expected shortly after.
