Russell E. Wilson, 87, of DuBois died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born April 15, 1930, he was the son of the late Welton C. and Anna (Schoch) Wilson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who had served in the Korean War.
On Aug. 7, 1950, he married Ruth (Rounsley) Wilson. She preceded him in death in February of 2009.
He, along with his sons, owned and operated Weber Hardware Store in Sykesville for the past 53 years.
He was a life member of the Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department and the Sykesville American Legion. He was also a member of the Garfield Lodge No. 559 Free and Accepted Masons for more than 50 years.
He is survived by two sons, Russell “Dave” Wilson and his wife, Debra and John R. Wilson, both of DuBois, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
There will be no public visitation.
A private funeral service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. with Pastor Kevin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
