Joseph Lesko, 85, a guest of Windy Hill Village of Presbyterian Homes, Philipsburg, and formerly of Hawk Run, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2017 at the home.
Born Sept. 10, 1931 in Hawk Run, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Tondra Lesko.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his generation. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bertha Yontosh, Mary Scott, Ann Sefcik and Margaret Fetcenko and his brothers, Michael and John Lesko.
He had retired from the former General Cigar, Philipsburg, after 39 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, ROK Presidential United Citation and the Good Conduct Medal.
Funeral services will be private and at the discretion of the family with Deacon Dennis Socash officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
