CLEARFIELD – Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the tree boxes, parks and streets in downtown Clearfield on May 20 during the annual Beautification Day.
The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) will be teaming up with the Great American Clean-up as well as local community and civic groups.
According to Main Street Manager Loretta Wagner, work will consist of mulching tree boxes, removing weeds, picking up litter and debris, sweeping the sidewalks and planting some flowers.
“This is an opportunity to help improve our community through beautification, partnerships and pride,” she said. “… We welcome every one of all ages.”
She said community and civic associations, schools and youth groups, families and friends, business employees, sports teams, church groups and others can organize members and participate in the Beautification Day.
In addition, the CRC is expanding upon Beautification Day and encouraging area residents to submit before and after photos of personal beautification projects to discoverclearfield@gmail.com by May 20 for a chance to win a prize.
“Everyone wants to live, work and play in a clean community,” Wagner said. “It is up to Clearfield residents and business owners to take pride in our community.”
Any interested volunteers are asked to please contact Wagner at the CRC Office at 814-765-6000 or by e-mail at discoverclearfield@gmail.com.
All volunteers are asked to meet at 10 a.m. at the Clearfield County Courthouse. “We recommend that you bring gloves, small hand tools, hand trimmers, broom, dust pan and sun-screen, if needed,” Wagner said.
