Samuel Walton Casher, 83, of Mineral Springs went to be with the Lord on May, 9, 2017 at his daughter’s residence in Allport.
Born Aug. 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Hilary and Jeanette Rowles Casher.
He married Vonda Knepp Casher, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children, Rodney L. Casher and his fiancée, Sandy Dixon of Clearfield, Tammy J. Shaw and her husband, David of Allport, Samuel W. Casher Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Woodland and Todd M. Casher and his wife, Charlotte of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sisters, Betty Belinda and Connie Green, both of Clearfield.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Guthrie and Norma Lumadue; and a brother, Elwood Casher.
Mr. Casher was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church of Woodland.
He had worked for Lady Jane Coal Co., of Rockton and Rushton Coal Co., of Osceola Mills. He retired from the Wal-Mart Distribution Center but then worked for Clearfield Bank & Trust as a custodian.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he served during the Korean War.
A public celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Woodland, with the Rev. Sean Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland. There will be no public visitation.
