FLINTON – The Lady Vikings of Glendale High School made quick work of the visiting Lady Tide of Curwensville Monday afternoon, 15-0, in a Moshannon Valley League game in Flinton.
The Lady Tide managed just four in the 15-run mercy rule shortened game.
Shortstop Kayley Harnett had half of the Curwensville hits with two singles.
The game ended with two outs in the bottom of the third inning when Glendale pushed run number 15 across home plate bringing into play the mercy rule.
Winning Lady Viking pitcher Lexi Mulhollen and teammate Makenzie Lukehart each had three hits.
One of Mulhollen’s base hits was a triple, helping her pick up three RBI’s on the day.
Kristen Hewitt and Cierra O’Shell had two hits apiece with one being a double for Hewitt.
Glendale scored nine runs in the first inning and then put the game away with six more tallies in the bottom half of the third.
The Lady Tide, 5-9 on the season, travel a few miles for its next game, at Clearfield, on Wednesday, with a special start time of 3:45 pm. The game has been postponed twice this season due to inclement weather.
