CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.
He identified the fugitive as Candy Duprez, 37, of Wildwood Lane, Morrisdale. Duprez is wanted for failure to appear at Sentencing Court on May 1, at which time a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On Oct. 8, 2015, Trooper Michael Moskel of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging Duprez with simple assault, M2, and harassment, S.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 17, 2015, state police received a report about a recent assault. Moskel subsequently made contact with both the victim and Duprez; he interviewed each separately.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Duprez allegedly struck the victim several times. Moskel observed injuries to the victim that were consistent with both of their statements.
In seven separate cases, Duprez is also charged with various counts of theft by deception, M2, and bad checks, S. On May 1, Duprez failed to appear at Sentencing Court in all cases, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Duprez is described as a Caucasian female who stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall. She has brown eyes and hair.
