CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners proclaimed the week of April 23-29 as Conservation District Week at the request of Susan Reed, district manager.
According to Reed, the county’s Conservation District has programs to protect local soil and watersheds. It also has an agricultural technician on staff to help the farming community.
This year, she said the Conservation District Week coincided with the annual tree sale, and her staff members have been busy sorting orders and preparing them for pick-up.
Commissioner John A. Sobel also noted that the district has been working alongside the county’s newly-established Farmland Preservation Board and its program.
The commissioners thanked Reed, her staff members and the district’s board for their diligence and hard work.
