Mary K. “Polly” Petersen, 70, of DuBois died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Sept. 30, 1946 in Indianapolis, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Kathleen (Horgan) Logan.
On Aug. 26, 1972, she married John C. Petersen. He survives.
Mrs. Petersen retired as a registered nurse from the DuBois Regional Medical Center after more than 20 years of service.
She worked in the emergency room and for Home Health in the Bennett’s Valley area.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she was a past Eucharistic minister.
She was also a volunteer at the Free Medical Clinic of DuBois. Mrs. Petersen loved to read and vacation at the shore.
She is survived by three children, Matthew Petersen and his wife, Kristine of Ashburn, Va., Jennifer Petersen and her husband, Jeffrey Wisneski of Pittsburgh and David Petersen and his wife, Katie of Linden, Pa.
She is survived by three brothers, Joseph Logan and his wife, Claire of California and John Logan and Charles Logan, both of Washington, D.C., and two sisters, Ann Lawlor and her husband, Greg of Maryland and Elizabeth Buff and her husband, Ernest of New Jersey. She is also survived by a grandson, Linus Wisneski.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Jonathan Wisneski as celebrant.
