CURWENSVILLE – The Rotary Club of Curwensville welcomed Darlene Rowles, who was representing the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She has been a volunteer for the ACS for 17 years.
The group was educated on the history of the ACS. It also learned that it’s a nationwide volunteer organization that raises funds for cancer awareness programs, research and resources for individuals affected by cancer.
This year’s Relay for Life will be held June 3 at the Clearfield Driving Park. The event will be 16 hours, and the goal is to raise $85,000.
Individuals are encouraged to participate in this event. It was also noted that 5,200 communities across 27 countries participate in a Relay for Life event.
