CURWENSVILLE – The Curwensville Rotary Club welcomed Josh Tkacik to its meeting April 11.
Tkacik has been a teacher at Penn Grampian Elementary School for the past 10 years. He has been teaching fourth grade.
Tkacik provided information to the club members on his “active seating” classroom.
Club members were introduced to yoga ball seating, as well as ball chairs, regular chairs and potentially the addition of wiggle wobble chairs.
The active seating facilitates the opportunity for breaking barriers and for the comfort level of the students.
Tkacik explained that brain activity is increased with exercise and the optional seating arrangement helps to facilitate that exercise.
