Thomas E. Matia, 66, of Osceola Mills died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his home.
Born Dec. 12, 1950 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Adam and Florence (Petrosky) Matia.
He married Sally J. (Wilcox) Matia on Nov. 12, 2013 in Philipsburg. She survives at home.
Mr. Matia was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and the Moshannon Lodge No. 391 F.&A.M. in Philipsburg of which he served as Worshipful Master in 1985. He was also a former councilman for Osceola Mills Borough.
He was the owner and operator of T.E. Matia Enterprises of Osceola Mills.
He was a 1968 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. He graduated in 1969 from the Wheel & Track School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ashley Tekely and her husband, Stephen of DuBois and Liza Miller and her husband, Kyle of Clearfield; one son, Zach Simler and his companion, Haylee Shimmel of Osceola Mills; and three grandchildren, Tessa Ansley Tekely, Emery Rose Tekely and Reid Marshall Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills with Pastor Mary Emery officiating.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Masonic Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
