Donald E. Pifer, 86, of DuBois died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Punxsutawney Hospital.
Born March 18, 1931 in Sykesville, he was the only child of the late Donald K. and Adeline Alice (Zimmerman) Pifer.
His wife of 62 years, Mable C. (Gent) Pifer, survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War.
He was the former owner of Keller Bros. Cleaners in DuBois. He also was the office manager/dispatcher for Shaw Trucking in Brockway.
He was the past commander of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post No. 17.
He is survived by his daughters, Pastor Dawn Krishart and her husband, Thomas of Black Lick, Pa., and Kimberly Pifer of DuBois and a son, Philip Pifer and his wife, Misty Perry-Pifer of Sunbury, Ohio.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jonathan Krishart of Blacklick, Ohio, Matthew Krishart of DuBois and Rowan Pifer of Sunbury, Ohio and two great-grandsons, Cameron and James Krishart.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the Light and Life Church with Pastor Mark Lutcher officiating.
