Betty Jane “Hawk” Turner, 93, of Lafayette, Ind., and formerly of Stronach, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Rosewalk Village at Lafayette Nursing Center in Lafayette, Ind.
Born April 22, 1923 in Stronach, she was the daughter of Harvey and Alice (Riddle) Hawk.
Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and also liked to build miniature furniture and to collect old bottles.
She had been affiliated with the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Grampian.
She wed Edward D. “Bud” Turner, who preceded her in death Feb. 27, 1987.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Seger, Sara Katherine Straw, Marie Witherite, Florence McCracken and Nell Breth.
Surviving are two brothers, John Hawk and his wife, Dorothy of Florida and Richard Hawk and his wife, Pat of West Lafayette, Ind., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. Ronald Emery officiating. Burial will be in the Watts Cemetery in Bell Landing.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
