CLEARFIELD – An early Monday morning fire sparked in an apartment on North Second Street in Clearfield Borough.
At approximately 6 a.m., the Clearfield and Lawrence Township fire departments responded to the fire.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, an interior search was conducted, and it was determined all of the residents were accounted for.
The fire started in a first-floor bedroom and was contained to a single apartment, and crews remained at the scene for approximately one hour.
Damage is estimated at $30,000, and the property owner did have insurance. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal.
