CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners approved the relocation of two polling places Tuesday.
The polling place for Irvona Borough was located at the fire company’s building at 130 Julia St.
It will be relocated to the Glendale Valley Spirit and Truth Church at 1943 Dorsey Ave.
The polling place for Decatur Township, Second Precinct, was located at the Gearhartville Sportsmen’s Club at 36 Blue Sprue Rd.
It will be relocated to the Gearhartville Free Methodist Church at 344 Blue Spruce Rd.
Director of Elections Dawn Graham said she visited both new sites, and the people were nice and friendly. She also said both will meet parking and handicap requirements.
Graham said the election’s office did receive one e-mail, and it asked for the Decatur Township polling place to remain at the sportsmen’s club.
However, Graham said it was vague and didn’t go on to state any specific reasons.
Commissioner Mark B. McCracken said people are encouraged to contact the elections office with their concerns by e-mail, letter or phone. He asked people to be very specific and to detail their concerns.
Graham said the Irvona and Decatur Township polling place changes will be in effect for the May Primary Election.
