William E. “Bill” Wendler, 75, of Morrisdale died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Jan. 10, 1942 in Dubois, he was a son of the late Carl W. and Marcella C. (Owens) Wendler.
He was a graduate of Sandy Township High School and was of the Catholic faith. He was a businessman for many years in San Diego, Calif.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served during the Vietnam War as a radar technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and camping.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. (Ballard) Wendler, at home; two brothers, Carl F. Wendler and his wife, Joyce of Pine Grove Mills and Joseph Wendler of Glenville; and nieces and nephews, Charles Wendler of Philipsburg, Jennine Murray of Alexandria, Kimberly Wendler and Brian Wendler, both of Milesburg, Kari Nye of Allison Park and Matthew Wendler of Coconut Creek, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Regis Wendler.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing, per Mr. Wendler’s request.
