DUBOIS – DuBois Central Catholic Elementary will be sending a four-member team to compete in the 2017 STEM Design Challenge, set for March 27, at the Riverview Intermediate Unit No. 6 in Clarion.
Team members are Lola Post, Barak Clouser, Mathue Volpe and Aiden Engle. Assisting the team and serving as advisor is Chris Felix, enrichment and resource teacher at DCC elementary.
Felix explains, “The STEM challenge requires us to adhere to a strict set of eight rules, including a two-hour time limit to assemble our K’Nex pieces into an amusement park, a journal documenting the steps we followed in creating the project and then a blue print of our design.”
Judging criteria will include not only the design, but also the team’s oral presentation and the teamwork displayed.
