Mary E. Swatsworth, 99, of Rockton died Friday, March 24, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 2, 1917 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late O. J. and Eva Wrigley Shugarts.
On Jan. 20, 1934, she married John S. Swatsworth. He preceded her in death May 19, 1980.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Gelnette Memorial Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Mae Gretsinger of Butler, Pa., and Mary A. Morgan of Rockton; a son, William Swathworth and his wife, Sally of DuBois; two sisters, Blanche Barr and Lillian Beveridge; a brother, Ralph Shugarts; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bette Jean Bainbridge; her grandson, John Morgan; and her granddaughter, Tammy Gretsinger.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at the Gelnette Memorial Church with Pastor William Davis officiating.
Burial will be in the Rockton Cemetery.
