HERSHEY — Six members of Clearfield County Career & Technology Center DECA participated in the 66th annual State Career Development Conference at the Hershey Lodge on Feb. 26–28, the largest state conference in PA DECA history.
DECA is the only Career and Technical Student Organization operating through the nation’s schools to attract young people to careers in marketing management and entrepreneurship.
More than 2,000 high school students from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania participated in more than 96 different competitive events at the conference pertaining to career clusters advancing the academic fields of hotel and motel management, finance, retail merchandising, international business and many other areas of business and marketing.
Representing CCCTC in the DECA State Conference were: Hope Cowder, Curwensville; Bree Gaines, Clearfield; Lydia Harris, Philipsburg-Osceola; Olivia Good, Philipsburg-Osceola; Ruth Rauch, Clearfield; and Shayna Luzier, Clearfield.
Bree Gaines received three medallions for being one of the top three scorers for her test and both roleplays in the technical schools division for the Business Finance Services event.
Lydia Harris and Hope Cowder received a medallion for top role play in the technical school division in the Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making event.
