Lois J. Stockdale, 80, of Falls Creek died Monday, March 6, 2017 at her home.
Born June 6, 1936 in Washington Township, Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Burley Sr. and Hattie (Cribbs) Burley.
On Aug. 25, 1956, she married John M. Stockdale Sr. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2009.
She retired from the Sandy Plaza Bi-Lo in the bakery after many years of service. Prior to that, she had worked at the Jackson China Co. in Falls Creek for more than 20 years.
She was a member of the Smithtown Community Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She loved to go for rides with her dogs, and she enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and Penn State football.
She is survived by three children, Vicki L. Stockdale, Donna J. Stockdale and John M. Stockdale, Jr. all of Falls Creek, and two brothers, Floyd Burley Jr. and his wife, Vivian of Falls Creek and Harold Burley and his wife, Patsy of DuBois.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosa McConnell and Mary Bish, and two infant brothers.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Smithtown Community Church with Pastor Harold Hills officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
