CLEARFIELD – For the first time in six years, Clearfield Borough will have an assistant police chief.
At Thursday’s meeting, the Clearfield Borough Council voted to promote Sgt. Greg Neeper to the position of assistant chief.
The position has been open since Chief Vince McGinnis was promoted in 2010.
Following a closed meeting, the council voted to promote Neeper, who has been with the police department for more than 20 years.
Also the meeting, the council voted to approve:
- Closing streets around the grove at the fairgrounds for the Relay for Life June 3-4.
- Extending the lawn care agreement for two years with Pine Grove Nursery.
- The resignation of part-time police officer Dakota Dahler.
- Reappointing Harvey Haag to the Clearfield-Lawrence Joint Airport Authority.
- Appointing Tim Winters to the borough Planning Commissioc
