Martha C. Cox, 94, formerly of Tipton, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation, Curwensville.
Born Nov. 4, 1922 in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Fred S. and Alice M. (Morgan) Larder.
She was a graduate of Warren High School. Then, following high school, she enrolled and graduated from business college in Washington, D.C.
She was employed at PPG, (now known as PGW) in Tipton, as an accounting and receiving clerk.
Following her retirement from PPG, she volunteered for a number of years at the James E. Van Zandt, VAMC, Altoona. She was a member of the Tipton United Methodist Church, Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Arthur C. Mock and Harlan Cox; a former husband, Edward R. Gabel; and one step-son, Gary Cox.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue A. Baumgardner and her husband, John of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg and Christine Lippiatt and her husband, David of York; five grandchildren, Bryan Baumgardner, Jamie Wolfe and her husband, Brent, Michelle Jadlocki and her husband, Joshua, Gregory Lippiatt and his wife, Sophie, Elizabeth Vather and her husband, Mark; and five great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by four step-sons, Tom Cox and his wife, Linda, Ray Cox and his wife, Judy, Steve Cox and his wife, Barbara and Harlan Cox Jr. and his wife, Carol and one step-daughter-in-law, Linda Cox.
A private burial service was conducted by the family at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
