Darryl “Wayne” Caldwell, 70, of Houtzdale died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born July 28, 1946 in Philipsburg, he was the son of John Jr. and Sylvia (Olson) Caldwell.
He was a member of the United Lutheran Church, Clearfield. Mr. Caldwell was a member of the Madera Moose and the Stephen Kandrach VFW Post No. 6321, Smithmill.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed Pittsburgh and Penn State sports. He was employed as a production supervisor for FCI Electronics, Clearfield, until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ann (Hahn) Caldwell at home; two sons, Daniel (Kim) Caldwell of Ramey and Shawn (Nicole) Caldwell of Houtzdale; and three grandchildren, Maddison and Abigail Caldwell of Ramey and Sara Caldwell of Houtzdale.
He is survived by five step-children, Anna (Kevin) Grunklee of Minnesota, Lisa Ogden of Virginia, Dana St. Clair of Florida, Clorise Ogden of Rockton and Trent Ogden of Madera and a number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Elaine Tice of Houtzdale and Charmaine Swabick of Moshannon.
Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in the Beulah cemetery, Ramey.
