Betty A. Slogaski, 82, of Houtzdale died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born Aug. 25, 1934 in Coalport, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Smolko) Kashtock.
On July 2, 1951 in St. Basil’s Catholic Church, Coalport, she married Leo R. Slogaski Sr., who preceded her in death in 2009.
She loved playing bingo, cooking, baking and canning.
She will be deeply missed by five children, Kenneth L. Slogaski and his wife, Dianne of Coalport, Sandra L. Berg and her husband, Charles of Morrisdale, Robert J. Slogaski of Pittsburgh, Michelle Phillips and her husband, Robert of Glen Hope and Leo R. Slogaski Jr. of Houtzdale and a sister, Marge Brink of Indiana.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kendra L. Slogaski, Nicole Russell, Joseph Kovalcin, Elizabeth Phillips; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Lindsey, Mary Betza and Helen Parker and three brothers, John, Edward and Andy Kashtock.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., Ramey, with the Rev. Zab Amar officiating. Burial will be in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin.
