Lady Tide Dumped By Ridgway 48-31

RIDGWAY – The Curwensville Area High School girls basketball team slipped to 2-4 on the 2016-17 season Wednesday night, losing at Ridgway 48-31.

The Lady Tide, playing without its star rebounding machine, Christine Limbert (illness), held its own over the first quarter action, trailing just 12-10 moving into the second eight minutes.

Ridgway owned the two middle periods, outscoring Curwensville 28-14, to take a 40-24 bulge into the fourth quarter.

Tide senior guard Hannah Dixon had 15 points on the night.

The Elkers had three girls in double figures with Emily Fullem leading all scorers with 18, followed by 12 from Hannah Park and 10 by C. Woodford.

In the first game it was Ridgway winning the junior varsity scrap over the Lady Tide by a score of 46-17. Jordan Wells had nine points for the Lady Tide JV squad.

The Lady Tide return home on Friday with a game against the Lady Rovers of Brockway. JV action tips off at Patton Hall at 6 pm with the varsity game to immediately follow.
