Kayla Renee Bennett, 19, of Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 6, 1997, she was the daughter of Rory Bennett of Brockport and Amy (Britton) Bennett of Treasure Lake, DuBois. They both survive.
She was a 2016 graduate of DuBois Area High School and accepted at Chatham University Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She received many scholarships for Chatham University and other schools.
She attended Treasure Lake Church. She helped console other young people during her illness and some at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
She is also survived by a brother, Brandon Bennett and a sister, Alyssa Bennett, both at home, and her grandparents, Tracey Meinert of Treasure Lake, Gail Jolley of Brockport and David Britton of DuBois.
She was preceded in death by her maternal step-grandfather, Mark Meinert and her paternal grandfather, Roy Bennett.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Whitaker officiating. Private burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
